PPS Group Introduces New Archival Division, Scene Savers
Now There's No Such Thing As Obsolete

CINCINNATI, OH – August 1, 2004 - PPS Group, a leading full-service provider of production and post-production services, announced today the launch of Scene Savers, an archival services division. Scene Savers focuses on restoring and reformatting historical and cultural motion picture films and videotapes. In addition, they provide consultation, cataloging and storage solutions.

Without a generation of civilized people to study history, to preserve its records, to absorb its lessons and relate them to its own problems, history, too, would lose its meaning."

Today, numerous corporations, repositories, libraries and educational institutions are in danger of losing their link to the past and are faced with challenges to ensure their precious materials will not only stand the test of time, but also be accessible for future generations.

“Because it has to be done right the first time, restoration and remastering really requires trained professionals to achieve the best results,” offers Jim Bird, president of PPS Group. “With more than 24 years business experience offering unsurpassed expertise when dealing with audio/visual materials, archival services are a natural extension of our core competencies. You don’t often get a “second chance” with this sort of material.”

Scene Savers provides turnkey solutions from cataloging materials to restoration and remastering to storage solutions. Services can be provided individually or in-combinations, and include, consulting, cataloging, film to tape transfer, color correction, videotape remastering, digitizing, digital asset management and long-term storage solutions.

Scene Savers ensures the materials are not lost, but restored to their fullest. Professional film and video personnel, including archivists, engineers and trained technicians create access copies on a range of formats for day-to-day use. Additionally, SceneSavers brings new life to old films by color correcting and transferring them to videotape, where they can then be viewed safely.
