Because it has to be done right the first time, remastering and restoration really requires the services of trained professionals to achieve the best results.  With more than 23 years business experience offering unsurpassed expertise when dealing with audio/visual materials, we are a natural fit to help archives, corporations, museums, colleges and universities, and broadcasters preserve and provide access to their moving image content.

Most institutions have very limited in-house ability to make professional copies of their materials as part of a serious preservation strategy.  This is where Scene Savers can help.  We care about your materials as much as you do.  From having an archivist on-staff to oversee your projects to our trained technicians working with professional, broadcast quality equipment, you can be assured your materials are handled in the safest manner possible, and that we strive to achieve the highest quality for all projects.

We pride ourselves in providing creative and cost-effective solutions to our clients.  These can range from providing the necessary equipment and personnel to manage the work at your facility to utilizing our own technicians to come to your facility, properly package all materials and transport it to our facility for proper care and management.  We will work with you to develop creative solutions to the challenges you face when preserving and providing access to your irreplaceable assets.

What makes us different: It is often said that the difference is in the details.  Everything has been set up at Scene Savers with handling archival materials in mind.  This includes providing expert services, such as having an on-staff film archivist to engineering and video professionals to keep the equipment in top operating condition.  It also includes doing all transfers in a professional manner, using technical systems you don’t think about much, like waveform and vector scopes, time-base correctors and audio mixer boards.  But, we go beyond these basics to provide you with the extras that help archives truly manage their materials efficiently and effectively.

Archives that want their material transferred really could benefit from knowing and having additional information about their materials.  When we transfer from one format to another, our technicians watch the videos and can provide you with metadata about the content/subject matter, the condition of the physical asset as well as the condition of the recorded images, any irregularities noticed during playback, the quality of the audio and any problems encountered.  We will clean your films and videos professionally and label them using archival quality poly labels printed on a wax/resin printer, which isn’t subject to fading and other problems encountered with paper labels.  For archives who want additional data about their materials, we can index all the content and capture information such as keyframes, closed captioning content, perform speech to text analysis and capture written text from the visual image on-screen.  This metadata is critical for archives who wish to include the information in a digital/media asset management system.  Scene Savers understanding of how users want to work with video can truly benefit the archive and we will work closely with you to make sure all your future needs are anticipated and met.
